Back to Scandinavia

What's up people?
I just realized - and by just I mean one month ago - that I haven't been posting as much as usual here lately. I guess old habits are hard to die.
So here I am, with loads of news from weird Sweden.

I'd love to say many people asked me how life is here, but it's me we're talking about, so nope. They'll eventually ask, probably one month before coming back so not to look like they didn't give a damn fuck, but that means I'd have to wait around 8 more months and well, I can't wait that long without writing.
Or maybe - positive Alex speaking now - it might be possible that people are so used to me moving away that they've lost track of me and/or think I got so accustomed to it that I don't feel like it's a big deal anymore. Which in a certain way is not, I'll give them credit for that. But still.

Just to recap, I've been living here in Stockholm for about two months now, I enjoy the new school - which btw is totally different from my home Uni - , I've found a part-time job as a RG coach - that is if I menage to get a certain number from the Tax Agency -, I've taken up ballet again and I've started writing for both HelpImAStudent.com and StudyInStockholm.se . Yay for me.
Don't worry, I'm still single and incredibly dorky as per everything else.

Warning: this is gonna be quite a sentimental post.

I love EU, bae

I am astonished.
And disgusted.

Today, as the whole World would eventually know by now, the United Kingdom has voted to leave the EU. Or, should I say, the majority of England's 60+ year-old twats have doomed the whole Country's youth to a future of uncertainty and economic instability. They have failed to realize that the World has changed A LOT in the last 70 years that the Union has been around, and failed to realize that it's not their own lives they have put at risk, but it's their youths' ones. They have failed to realize that they have not only scarred the EU, but have probably sentenced their own country to death, too.

What to do when you're sick & on holiday

Hello little sunshines!
How have you been lately? Anything special going on in your lives?

I was just wondering, is it just me or holidays happen to be the best time of the year, according to your body at least, to get sick?

I mean, it's not that I'd rather be sick during exam period - oh, wait, I do already get sick quite often during that time of the year too! How marvelous! NOT.

The best of myself

'ssup guys?

I know I've never posted any of my work here - or anywhere else, now that I think of it - , but I had LOADS of fun making this video and, as it's about myself only, this blog seems just the right place for it!
Hope you like it!

Further updates about my life and life in general coming soon!

So much for closing the Europen borders

Well well well... How can someone's life change in one month?

I'll tell you: a lot.

First things first, though.

PoliMi has some notorious downsides - i.e. lack of a social life outside the Poli itself - which it's famous for, and which I usually tend to remind to anyone attempting to get anywhere near it. This time though I really have to praise it. Why? Well, there's this thing called MEDes -aka Master of European Design- which consists in moving to one of the partner Unis for the last year of the  Bachelor, coming back in July to get the Bachelor degree, then moving again somewhere else for the first year of the Master degree and then move back to Poli for the second Master year. Crazy shit,right? I got accepted.

The perks of being a Design Student

Hello little sunshines! Today it's February 8 and...

Wait, WHAT?!

Excuse me, but where has January gone exactly?!
I mean, it feels like yesterday when I had the second physics test, and then the third, and had to send in the 6th render, and then the 7th, and then the 8th, and then... Oh, I see.

Let's start again then.

Hello people, today it's February 8 and the world sucks.

Ok, maybe it doesn't, but being a design student probably does. Ok, it doesn't.
Just a bit maybe.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE doing what I'm doing, but the thing is, most of my friends are studying in other fields and yet, no matter how hard a time they say to be having, they still seem to have a pretty decent life besides Uni - DISCLAIMER: I am absolutely NOT denigrating other study fields.

Now, I know this may seem overstating, but being a design student leaves you with little to no life at all, especially if you decide to take a part time job too.
It's not that we have loads of stuff to properly study - even though I'm surrounded by History of art books at the moment - the real problem is the incredible amount of time it takes to "complete" projects, which in reality you never truly complete, as any design/architecture student will confirm.

Unluckily, projects are what we choose this field for - masochists  - so we can't really blame them, that's why I blame 3ds Max instead. For those of you who don't know what it is, it's actually Satan in it's 3D graphics software from, almost.

To give you guys an idea, here's a list of things you can do while waiting for your final render to be done:

1) Get your nails perfectly shaped and polished like in those cool tutorials.

2) Order a pizza.

3) Eat a pizza.

4) Have a long and meaningful conversation with your parents on FaceTime about how beautiful your kitty is.

5) Google Stephen Merchant on YouTube.

6) Laugh your butt off because of his lip sync battle with Jimmy Fallon.

7) Start thinking about all the songs you'd totally nail if you were to lip sync them.

Happy New Year, Karma

Happy New Year everyone!
God, can't believe another year's officially over, not that I'm too sorry about that.

Now, let's be honest, we all agree 2015 hasn't been exactly the best we've ever had, right?
Not the worst, of course - I doubt anything would ever beat my middle school years, a real nightmare - but with the new War, Donald Trump running for President in the US - I mean, seriously guys?!- and Miley Cyrus hosting the VMAs, we can't really regret it.

I don't, at least.
In spite of being a year of many academic accomplishments, it has been, for me, a year full of unluckily events - some of which are quite funny if seen in retrospect, I admit - especially its last months  :

1) Got bitten to (psychological) death by the fleas which infested the flat we'd rented for our 12 days long Workshop in Istanbul - beautiful city though;

2) Lost my 14 years old cat, whom I miss everyday more;

3) Haven't had a proper day off in the whole year;

4) Spent Christmas with Influenza and couldn't go back to my hometown;

5) Haven't met Prince Charming yet - though I'm sure he'll come around this year;

6) Met P.I.A, instead;

7) Turned my brand new beautiful WHITE shirt pink.

But then , I've been gifted with a new amazingly funny and 10 times more unlucky flatmate, friends and family - not too many- who love me, my sweet Ron and opportunities you don't often get, so I don't suppose I should be here complaining.

Although...

Karma, if you do exist and don't happen to hate me,  keep these, let's call them suggestions for the New Year, in mind please, wouldn't you ?

Like, for example, it wouldn't be bad to actually be free during those so called holidays for a change, or also - I know this may come as a shock, but please try to keep your mind open about this - there's no written rule which says I'm to meet only weirdos and creeps or complete prats, not that I'm aware of at least. Not that I need a man to be happy, of course.
Yet, a man like Mr Darcy - either Elisabeth Bennet's or Bridget Jones' - wouldn't hurt at all.

It's all up to you, though.
